MISSION CALL IS HERE!!!!!!!!

Hello Dear Family!!
Wow..im so excited I can barely type on this keyboard!...my fingers wont stop shaking! I just got off the phone with mom and she informed me that my mission call came today in the mail at home!!!!!!! Right now I am in Rexburg with Tan&Sioux and we wont be going home to Nampa till about 2 or 3pm tomorrow (friday) so I "could" open my call sometime between 7-9pm on Friday. I really wanted to wait till Monday when at least Travis, Tevya, Jill&Colter could all be there when I open it. How much do ya'll want to be there?? Because right now I think I might be willing to wait for you all, but that could change drastically when that envelope is infront of my face haha! As for Shawnee&David...Im sorry guys, but Wednesday is just too far away to wait! Love you just the same though! : )
I want you all to know how excited I am. It's ridiculous...I cant stop smiling...to the point that I think my cheecks are going to be sore tomorrow haha! Im ready to go anywhere!
I want you all to know how much I love you & that I realize how blessed I am to be in this family with you all. I love it! I love our family and the longer I live/the more I see, the more I know how unique our/my family is & how blessed I am to have you all! Thank you all for your examples! Tevya, Travis & Tanner you have had a big impact on me wanting to take this step. Thank you.
I cant wait to see you all at Thanksgiving! Drive safe everyone!

ps- Friday morning(Nov.26) I will be going through the Boise Temple for the first time. I really want all of those endowed to come. So please dont forget to bring your temple clothes or whatever you'll need. (I dont know im new to this stuff) : ) Love you all!

This weekend I spent some time on my old Chile videos--cut them up and pasted them into a video collage of sorts. This is just the part before Bobbie came down. These two cover the same stuff--I just cut a lot out for the shorter version.

MISSION!!!

Hey Family!
I feel bad if anyone was left out and didn't know or heard the news from some lame source...like fb or something. But I just wanted everyone to know that I turned my mission papers in yesterday. Hopefully they will be to Salt Lake by this weekend & then according to President Jenson I should have my call in two weeks. I want you all to know I have been praying about this a lot...since last February when I turned twenty. I know I want to serve a mission but I wasnt sure if it was what the Lord wanted & if thats what he had planned for me. My mind kept bringing up the scripture-- "If ye have a desire ye are called to the Work." This last week has been huge for me. It was a struggle. But I KNOW now that this is right and I just cant stop smiling about it. I love you all so much and am so grateful to be in this family and have the opportunity to share eternity with you all. I Love the gospel of Jesus Christ & I am so grateful for goodly parents who raised me right and taught me. Thank you Tevya, Travis & Tanner for serving. Your examples have really helped me in this decision.
I love you all and I guess mom will let us all know when my call comes in the mail back at home. Your going to have to send it on to Rexburg though Mom.. : ) haha

I am trying to be adventureous and just go ahead and trying making a comment on our family blog.

Here is an up date on the events that are happening here at "Happy Dale."

Jackson is going to get his cast off tomorrow August 16th. We hope that it has healed and all will be fine. Dr. Cousin Roman Burk, is his doctor and will re-x-ray it. We hope all will be fine, because AAU BB try outs are this coming Saturday. To make it fair for the other boys, he should probably wear his cast.

On August 4th Cheyenne was working for Red Robin and was taking out the trash in the women's bathroom stalls and was poked by a diabetic needle. He boss sent her to the emergency room. On her way she called home told us what happened. It was about 10:30 pm. I met her at the OR and there we were taken care of by a Dr. Lee. He listened to what happened to Cheyenne and then recommended and prescribed that Cheyenne start a 30 day regiment on a drug call conbivir. It has a very long list of side effects, but he said in order to block the HIV virus from developing in her body, she would need to take this drug. We consented and so started taking the drug, with a bit of anxiety. I worried about the long term effects of the drug. It is a very harsh drug. Dr. Lee told us to go to a follow up doctor 5 days after starting. After two days Cheyenne felt like she was on the verge of being nauseated and sick. She miss several days of work. We went to the follow up appointment. The doctor there asked her to tell him her story. After listening to her, he said," if that had happened to me, I would not take that drug." He proceeded to tell us that he didn't think her risk of infection was great enough, and that he would not risk her overall health with that harsh drug. I felt a big relief. I have been so worried this last week over the effects of combivir. We went home discussed it with Dad and decided to discontinue the prescription. The next two days Cheyenne woke up feeling too sick to go to work. I think that drug had built up in her body long enough that is was making her sick, like it said on the side effects. The third day she felt good enough to go to work. I am so glad that we have discontinued that regiment of drugs. I think the Lord will bless and protect her. She will have to go through a series of blood tests over the next 6 months. If nothing shows up they will give her a clearance.

Jefferson's bike accident wound has healed up nicely. He started high school this last Monday and says everything is going "fine". Tomorrow morning Jefferson starts early morning seminary. He is a great young man and is a good worker. He helps with the pasture and yard alot. Jefferson did his Eagle Project, and it all went as he planned. He had a great turn out and now he is working on all the paper work to get it completed. Yea!! our soon to be 4th Eagle Scout.

Aimee is working at Seminus Corn with Cheyenne. She is very tan from working out in the sun all day. It is only a few weeks away and she will be off to BYUI to room with Cheyenne. I am already missing her piano playing. Sometimes I drive the white pickup and get alot of waves from people I don't know. They all think its Aime, makes me feel popular.

Tanner surprised us and came home late Friday night. I think he was surprise to find us still up. I kind of think he was plotting to scare Cheyenne again by tapping on her window. Tanner was a big help to Dad working in the pasture and trying to get the chicken coop relocated and

redesigned. It was hot and Tanner was wearing his Chinese hat. Grandpa came down and asked how much does Chinese labor cost? Dad replied, " Seven bottles of peaches and 4 loaves of bread". Tanner and Lincoln are working in Rexburg, repairing apartment complexes.

Travis was home the week after the reunion. It was great having him home again. It has been a very long time since we have had him around. He was here long enough to start asking, if a crumb falls to the floor, does it make a sound? He helped with Jefferson's Eagle project, that was great to have his help. He also helped me get going on getting all my negetives put on to CD.We are excited for him to start his program at BYU and to teach freshman english.

About once a week Shawnee calls and asks what we are having for dinner. I think she and David are doing well up there in the wild country, surrounded by Indians. We hope to go visit them soon.

Its feeling pretty quite around here all the poopies are gone but one and he will leave August 25, howlray!!! Remember.... wag more, bark less. I love you mom

I thought Ron told a great story at the Washburn family reunion. I wanted to share it since you weren't all there.

He said they'd gotten together for some kind of Washburn family reunion but it was winter time. His Uncle, Grandpa's brother-in-law, was pulling kids behind a 3 or 4-wheeler on an inner-tube. He went around a corner and it threw Ron off. He was a little banged up but okay. He told his Uncle that he was done. The Uncle responded:

You're a Washburn, and Washburn's don't quit. Now get back on that inner-tube!

I thought that was great, and something to keep you motivated when life seems hard: "You're a Washburn, and Washburn's don't quit."

The Uncle was the father of the Ogles clan. Can't think of his name. Tell me who it was, 'cause I want to attribute the quote to him.

Here are my crazy bosses I was telling you about.

Family Computer Password Fiasco..

I woke up last Tuesday around 9:30am. As I walked from my bedroom down the hallway I could hear the faint jabs of sound coming from the family computer speakers. I knew the sound well, star wars weapons..lazer guns and light sabers having it out. Immediately my attitude turned negative. I knew before I reached the end of the hall that Jackson was on the computer playing his heart out on Jedi Academy. I turned the corner and put a serious face up. I warned Jackson that he had 5min left, then I would be kicking him off. He consented to my no alternative command.

In the kitchen I examined my options for breakfast. Shawnee came up the stairs and asked for my help with feeding the cows. I said nothing but put on a heavy coat and followed her outside. The cows provided extra problems and extra work that morning, it took us a good 45min to an hour before the job was done. When we came back inside I remembered the 5min warning I had given Jack, now some time ago. I marched over to the computer a little angered from being cold and frustrated from the cows. In a commanding voice I asked him to exit his game. Surprisingly Jackson did so in about 10 seconds flat! He left the room and in a frustrated attitude I was determined to reset the password and stop this early morning computer playing once and for all! In my frustration of having let Jackson play a whole extra hour instead of the warned 5min, I did not think to set a password hint or to write the new password I had set down. I quickly got off the comp and got dressed to do P90x with Bobbie.

Halfway through p90x I realized i couldn't remember the new password I had set 2 hrs earlier. I mentioned it to Sioux & Shawn but they only looked at me like I was crazy. I found out later that they had thought I was talking about my own computer password, hence the no sympathy from my sisters. The password was on the tip of my brain...I knew I knew it and if I could only sit down and focus I would remember it. But there was still a good 30min left of p90x and the password would have to wait. Four hours later I found myself on the couch completely tuckered out and very much feeling a nap coming on. I succumbed. I woke up to Jeffer tugging on my shirt asking for the password to the computer.,

AND THATS WHERE IT ALL STARTED..

The new password I had set that morning was such a minor detail in my day now that my mind had shut it out completely. I could not remember it for the life of me.

The problem lasted exactly one week. Through the help of Tevya and Travis I was able to be walked through the steps of using Ophcrack and succesfully hacked into our computer and discovered the password. Travis was extremely helpful and very patient. He literally walked me through it step by step from his work computer in Utah. Thanks Trav!

I guess the lesson I have learned is to never do anything in anger or frustration. It always turns out bad.
